Alex Cabunoc
Art Center College of DesignAlex Cabunoc is an Industrial Design major studying product design at Art Center College of Design. Prior to Art Center he was the lead graphic designer for a large financial institution, and also taught English in Japan for several years. He has a previous degree in Fine Arts with an emphasis in metal sculpture from the University of California, Santa Cruz. Much of his current work focuses on social impact including GiraDora, an award-winning, patented project for a human-powered washing machine designed for people living on less than $10 per day. His work has been exhibited in numerous locations including Boston, San Francisco and Santiago, and published in FastCompany, Frame Magazine and the Los Angeles Times. He recently co-founded Blue Barrel Concepts– a design group that specializes in social impact design.
