Dave Bailey
Art Center College of Design/Artist

Bailey is Director of the recently launched Artmatters curriculum, and Core faculty in undergraduate Fine Art. His work is research-based and speculative, concerning geographic sites and co-evolutionary relations between social, natural and infrastructural systems. His methods often engage local communities in research, workshops and expeditionary field work. Bailey’s work has been shown in solo museum exhibitions [Malmö Konsthall; Raven Row, London; Casco Office for Art, Design and Theory, Utrecht; Secession, Vienna; and others], international group exhibitions [including Berlin, Lyon, and São Paulo Biennales], public projects and publications. Bailey has guest taught in graduate programs for art, architecture and public practice including: Konstfack, Stockholm; Royal Institute of Art (KKH), Stockholm; Valand School of Art, Gothenburg; Städelschule, Frankfurt; Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts, Copenhagen; Academy of Fine Arts, Vienna; University of Queensland, Brisbane; Queensland University of Technology, Brisbane. He earned his BA in philosophy and science at Carleton College, and holds graduate degrees from Harvard Divinity School and Art Center.
