PARTICIPANTS

Lara Penin is assistant professor of Transdsiciplinary Design at the School of Design Strategies, Parsons The New School for Design. She is a founding member of DESIS Lab (Design for Sustainable Social Innovation and Sustainability) and coordinator of the Service Design Area of Study at the BFA in Integrated Design program. Penin’s work uses the advanced practice of service design applied it to design for social innovation. She was the Principal Investigator of the project “Amplifying Social Innovations” awarded with a grant from Rockefeller Foundation Cultural Innovation Funds NYC 2009. Lara is an architect and designer with a PhD in Industrial Design and Multimedia Communication from Milan Polytechnic University and a BA in Architecture and Urban Planning from the University of São Paulo.
